How long does it take to process our application?
UICC aims to process your application as quickly as possible. If you have sent in all the information that we require to process your application, and your referees respond to our requests for a reference in good time, the whole process should take about two weeks. Sometimes it can take longer, due to missing information or delays from referees. The membership team will advise you of any further information that may be required and will keep you informed of progress.
What happens when we submit the application?
The membership team will first consult existing member organizations from your country, if any. Next, your referees will be contacted. They are given a few days to respond. Once the references are collected, the application is assessed by the CEO. You will be notified as soon as a final decision is made.
Sponsored dues
Over the years, some UICC members that could not afford, for various economic reasons, to pay membership dues have been sponsored by organizations from developed countries.
Criteria for eligibility include:
- financial need: organizations are based in the low-and middle income countries and are furthermore not able to pay the reduced fees
- good governance: organizations selected have the capacity to carry out their programs effectively
- involvement: organizations participate actively in UICC activities
The organizations applying for sponsorship are requested to submit the most recent financial report and the motivation letter to membership department at membership@uicc.org. In principle the sponsorship is agreed for one year. UICC will encourage in particular twinning opportunities between similar institutions from different countries.
