Foundation for Promotion of Cancer Research was established in 1968 by the Ministry of Health and welfare to support various activities for disease prevention. It seeks to promote cancer research and to support the "Comprehensive 10-year strategy for cancer control", which was initiated by the Japanese Government. The Foundation is independent from the government with reference to policy-making and expenditure of funds based on the Foundation`s regulations. The Foundation is a full UICC member.
