The ISREC Foundation, previously Swiss institute for experimental cancer research was founded in June 1964. It is a foundation governed by the Swiss civil law. It is overseen by the Swiss Confederation. It is registered in the Trade register of the Canton of Vaud. The mission of the ISREC Foundation focuses on three areas: Translational research: support for projects encouraging knowledge transfer and collaborations between basic research and clinical applications. Young scientists and academics: grants for PhD students working in the areas of biology, technology or medicine and focusing their research on immunology and oncology within an academic doctorate programme. The AGORA - Pôle de recherche sur le cancer: under a single roof, AGORA unites complementary interdisciplinary research groups working together to address major challenges and opportunities. Foundation ISREC became UICC associate member in 2005.
