1/ TO FIGHT CANCER BY FUNDING RESEARCH : The ARC Foundation gives laboratory researchers, the financial means they need to conduct their projects and cover the various fields of cancerology (diagnosis, care, prevention), from basic research to clinical and translational research through to human & social sciences. 2/ TO DISSEMINATE SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE: The ARC Foundation informs the general public on scientific advances on specific cancers Its policy is conducted thanks to the generosity of private donors and testators, and excluding any public allocation. • Resources: Amount collected : 31,2 EM in 2011(provisional figures) Of Which 19.1 EM from legacies and life insurances and 12.2 EM from donations • Over 270 000 donors in 2011 • In 2010, close to 78 % of its expenses dedicated to u social missions » ("Subventions" 8 fellowships + publications on cancer) • Amount allocated to financing cancer research: over 30.8 EM in 2011 - the last 10 years: 259.8 EM • Number of supported projects: 421 new projects In 2011 • Funding research according to 6 priorities: Discover causes and mecanisms for cancer development/ Improve prevention and screening /Accelerate early cancer diagnosis / Improve existing treatments / Develop new therapeutics / Inform on advances and perspectives.
