Founded in 2001, the Federació Catalana d'Entitats contra el Càncer, (FECEC) aims to serve as a civil organization that serves as a union for individual organizations that fight against cancer in Catalonia.

The Federation's three branches of activities are: organization services, knowledge generation, and external activities. Representing 12 organizations, the federation acts as their communication link with the public administration and gives them an open forum for sharing knowledge and experiences.

FECEC activities include oncology volunteer programs, volunteer exchange, and promotion of the European code against cancer amongst town and student communities. FECEC organizes the Celebration of the European Week against Cancer in addition to Federation Forums, opening debate on the current situation of cancer in Catalonia.

Two active organization members of FECEC are Taula d'Entitats del Tercer Secotr Social de Catalunya and Fòrum Català de Pacientes. As an associate member of the UICC, accepted in March 2008, FECEC is interested in continuing to collaborate on prevention programs and knowledge exchange.
