Estonian Cancer Society, (ECS) was founded in 1991 as a non-profit organization. It is an umbrella organization for 11 independent NGO`S involved with oncological problems.

ECS has about 1000 members and direct their activities towards cancer patients, their families, and specialists working in oncological fields. They contribute to the prevention and treatment of cancer, to the psychosocial and physical rehabilitation of cancer patients; and to the alleviation of the problems of patients with advanced cancer.

ECS became a UICC associate member in 2004
