Centro di Prevenzione Oncologica - CPO was founded in 1983 and continues to fight for cancer prevetnion in the Piedmont region.

Specifically, it organizes and evaluates primary and secondary prevention programmes, and creates a cancer registry, performing prevention trials and oncological studies.

It has an international reputation of exchanging information and documentation with fellow cancer organizations, in the fight to control cancer`s lasting impact worldwide.

In July 2005, CPO became full UICC member.
