Centre Régional Jean Perrin was established in 1973.

Within the Centre Régional Jean Perrin, there is a Center for the Fight Against Cancer in Auvergne which was established in 1991 with the responsibility of prevention, registries, diagnosing and the treatment of cancer.

This center also takes part in conducting research and teaching through the University.

Centre Régional Jean Perrin was accepted as full UICC member in 1975.
