The Cancer Council Western Australia is the leading cancer charity in WA. It is a non-government, community-supported organisation dedicated to reducing the impact of cancer on West Australians. Established over fifty years ago, the Cancer Council has a proud history of advocacy and action on cancer issues. It aims to fund a diverse range of cancer research, educating the community about cancer prevention and providing support for cancer patients, their families and loved ones. An emotive new campaign from the Cancer Council is asking smokers to think about those who would be left behind if their smoking leads to a life limiting illness, such as lung cancer. Cancer Council Western Australia became full UICC member in 1970.
