Cancer Council Australia
Cancer Council Australia, formerly known as the Australian Cancer Society, advices the Australian government and other bodies on practices and policies to help prevent, detect and treat cancer.
The council's vision is to minimize the threat of cancer to Australians, through successful prevention, best treatment and support. They implemented a cohesive approach to reduce the impact of cancer.The Council works with its members, the eight state and territory cancer organizations, to undertake and fund cancer research, prevent and control cancer and provide information and support for people affected by cancer.
The council also advocates for the rights of cancer patients for the best treatment and supportive care. Cancer Council Australia strives to minimize the threat of cancer to all Australians through successful prevention, best treatment and support.
Cancer Council Australia became a member of the UICC in 2000.
