Cancer Council ACT
The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Cancer Council is a non government not-for-profit community organization that aims to promote a healthier community by reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in the ACT region. The Council depends largely on the generosity of the ACT and surrounding community providing donations and supporting fundraising initiatives.
The group wishes to promote a healthier community by reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in the Canberra area through information, education, supportive care and research. The Cancer Information Service provides information on all aspects of cancer via the cancer council helpline, written information, e-mail service, lending library, and walk in consultation service.
Since 1978, The Cancer Council ACT has been full UICC member.
