Basic Health International (BHI) believes that no woman should die from cervical cancer. Founded in 2005, BHI is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing cervical cancer in Latin America and the Caribbean through innovative low-cost, low-technology screening and treatment methods. BHI also provides medical training, policy quidance, and research on cervical cancer issues in the developing world. Serving as an expert in the field, BHI has trained other organizations in its methods, such as member organizations of the International Planned Parenthood Federation and Partners in Health.BHI currently has an exciting opportunity to restructure the cervical cancer screening and prevention programs in El Salvador and make this developing country a center of excellence for cervical cancer management in low-resource settings.
