LIVE DEMONSTRATION BREAST CANCER SURGERY
Over last two decades, the Indore cancer foundation, has been working in partnership with government health delivery machinery in several states of India, like
Madhya Prdesh, sometimes Chhatisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujerat and Mahrashtra. The main aim of this activity has been to downstage cancers by reaching out
to remote villages and serve the poor, tribal population. Additionally capacity enhancement programmes have bee carried out for government doctors, nurses
as well as paramedical staff.
We have also carried out radical free cancer surgeries at district hospital by carefully screening patients, confirming histology as well as resectability and performed several hundred free cancer surgery operations at the district hospitals, without compromising safety and quality.
The Indore cancer foundation is organising free breast cancer surgery camp at Government district hospital Madhavnagar, Ujjain, near Indore on August 30th and 31st. Following above mentioned parameters, several radical breast operations will be performed, very often but not always, under regional epidural anaesthesia.
This is a unique opportunity to see surgical oncology work at Community level, an example of nongovernmental charitable organisation and government hospitals.
