Who we are
We are a group of ambitious young doctors, dedicated to the study of cancer and its physical & social effects on the society, it didn’t take us long to realize the faultiness of the cancer control measures taken in Libya.

The word CANCER is a taboo in our society, people are afraid of mentioning it, physicians aren’t able to tell their patients that they have cancer, most cancers we’ve seen during our surgical rotation in NCI (National Cancer Institute) can be screened and detected in their early stages, but due to the lack of public awareness and the inefficient screening facilities, patients will usually present with late cancer stages.

Our Mission
For the time being our mission is going to be narrow and focuses only on approaching cancer through education, prevention, empowering and supporting people living with cancer.

WCD is our first step towards our goals, we are doing our best to be a world leading organization in cancer control.

Our plans for are to raise the awareness of the cancer epidemic and press on the government to put cancer in their agenda, especially that Libya is witnessing a huge change from the political point of view, us in LUAC we see this as an opportunity to start things from scratch and on clean and strong foundation.
