• A press release announcing the Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, the Pearl of Wisdom campaign and the CervicalCheck screening programme will be issued on January 20 and a press briefing pack will be send to the health journalists and the health supplement editors for all the national newspapers.
• A photo call featuring a gigantic Peal of Wisdom was held in Dublin to promote the Prevention Week and the actions that had been planned.
• The IFPA is going to launch a highly successful social network promotional campaign, establishing contact with the groups and individuals that have been using this medium to promote cervical cancer prevention.
• Two Pearls of Wisdom is going to be sent to every female politician in Ireland together with a factsheet about cervical cancer and how it can be prevented.
• Twenty two thousand Pearls of Wisdom were distributed across Ireland through the IFPA clinics and 43 different NGOs as well as various other organisations and individuals. The Pearls of Wisdom were enthusiastically received and demand quickly outstripped the supply.
