Bangladesh Cancer Society(BCS) is a nonprofit, philanthropic and social welfare organization of Bangladesh; working in the field of cancer awareness , prevention, diagnosis, treatment and research since1978.

The Honorable President of the state is the cheif Patron of BCS and got the status of membership of UICC since 1995.

We have collaboration with many hospitals and societies at home and abroad regarding training and exchange of views.

BCS plays a pivot role for creating awareness on cancer prevention among the general people of the country. We are regularly arranging workshop, seminar and symposium as part of continuing Medical Education (CME) program nationally and internationally. As a part of CME program we are going to organize an "International Symposium on Recent Advancements in Oncology and Medical Physics-2011" on 26-27 December 2011, in collaboration with the National Institute of Cancer Research & Hospital, America Bangladesh Collaborative Research Organization, Bangladesh Medical Association of North America & Bangladesh Medcal Physics Society.

The main objective of this symposium is to form a common platform for the oncologists and medical physicists working in different parts of the world with a view to offer global standard treatment for the cancer patients. Eminent faculties are working in various branches of oncology and medical physics in home and abroad will participate and present scientific papers on the recent developments of cancer treatment. This will open an avenue for junior oncologists and medical physicists for upgrading their recent knowledge in oncology and medical physics.
