The National Cancer Institute of Brazil (INCA) launched a hotsite encouraging individuals and organisations to use social media to support cancer control and will host a one-day seminar entitled“Social Media in cancer control" on February 3.

The seminar program encompasses the following lectures, which will be presented by experts:

- "Possibilities of health communication and mobilization through social media"
- "New health communication and mobilization in practice: cases in social network”
- “Tools and new technologies for health communication and social mobilization”.

’Together it is possible’ Campaign
To raise awareness about cancer and commit individuals and organizations all over Brazil to take action against the disease, the Brazilian National Cancer Institute has created a special hotsite www.inca.gov.br/wcm/dmdc/2012/ inviting supporters to join the mobilization world campaign ’Together it is possible’ (“Juntos É Possível” in Portuguese). They are being encouraged to send a support message with or without a photo, by using the hashtags #JuntosÉPossivel, #diamundialdocancer and #worldcancerday.
