Breast cancer is considered one of the most widely spread cancer among women all over the world and in Egypt according to NCI statistics.
The community profile of international Global Initiative showed that it was clear that there was a defect in knowledge awareness level about symptoms and risk factor concerned with breast cancer in women aged between 20: 60 years in Cairo communities
The problem of Breast Cancer in Egypt doesn't occur only in poor communities, but it affects all women due to absence of health awareness & lack of knowledge.

Beside the fact that early detection services are not affordable to all women, there is a problem related to stigma that should be dealt with such as fear and denial. Breast health awareness and regular examination save lives.

Cairo social clubs include more than 500,000 family members, where they spend most of their times in the summer and weekends in school days which is a good opportunity to spread the word about breast health among women and their families.

The results of the community profile explained that learning, economic and social level may contribute in the understating of breast cancer symptoms and risk factors, although breast self examination practice and undertaking other early detection services are not affected by the educational or the social level.
