Health For All. Everywhere.

The first ever Universal Health Coverage Day on 12.12.14

Header Paragraph

Friday the 12th of December will be the first-ever Universal Health Coverage Day. Friday will mark the two-year anniversary of the unanimous United Nations resolution endorsing Universal Health Coverage.

In staunch support of this day, a coalition of 500 organisations from over 100 countries have joined forces, and UICC is very proud to be one of these supporters.

Universal Health Coverage (UHC) means that everyone can access the quality health services they need without financial hardship. Countries of all income levels are pursuing policy reforms to achieve UHC. Currently, over one billion people lack access to basic healthcare and over 100 million fall into poverty trying to access it. This is one of the reasons why UHC is so critical.
