Inhabiting music: dancing, playing instruments, singing and improvising in the expressive wholeness of the body-sound-act, the logical, rational, analytical, synthetic spaces become active.
These spaces are shared among: affective, emotional and symbolical speeches, that are able to move, to shake and to touch us.
The Music Therapy is fishing here, in this sea of unspeakable feelings, emotions, moods, through a creative action that finds, in the musical relationship, an inner and outward complexity where both the cry and the stroke live.
The “Edo ed Elvo Tempia” Foundation organizes the First Italian Meeting of Music Therapy in Oncology in cooperation with the Health Unit of Biella, since they know how much must be done to promote Music Therapy to an institutional level, and because they are conscious of its therapeutic, fulfilling, harmonizing power.
These Institutions want to achieve several goals, with this Meeting:
-gathering up the Italian and European reality of Music Therapy in Oncology
-stimulating the research in Music Therapy
-providing an opportunity of meeting and exchange for Music Therapists
-creating a network to emphasize and to inform Music Therapists and Institutions
-building an open space to argue, on the web site of the Tempia Foundation, where you can find information on Music Therapy and Music Therapists
-activating specialization course in Oncology for Music Therapists
