Virtual Dialogue: Meaningful engagement of people living with cancer

23 May 2024, 14:00-15:30 Central European Summer Time (click here to convert timezone)

UICC, through its Patient Group Mentoring programme and Young Leaders programme, is collaborating with the World Health Organization (WHO) to highlight the importance of engaging people with lived experience in the co-creation of policies, programmes and services related to them. Positioning patients as active participants in all aspects of their health through patient-centred research and care not only results in better clinical outcomes, but is also essential to achieving the right to the highest standard of health and its equitable realisation.

In this Virtual Dialogue, the WHO will provide an overview of the WHO framework for meaningful engagement of people living with noncommunicable diseases, and mental health and neurological conditions. The Virtual Dialogue will also showcase success stories, share resources and opportunities to support the engagement of people with lived experience, and provide an opportunity in breakout rooms to discuss how to effectively implement the framework in national and regional contexts.
