Call for Abstracts: Women's Health & Sex Differences Research- Scientific Poster Sessions

Co-sponsored by the NIH Office of Research on Women's Health -Abstract Submission Deadline: December 1, 2010.

Who Should Submit: We invite researchers to submit abstracts on current and emerging issues in women's health, in any domain of women’s health, including basic science, clinical, translational, behavioral, epidemiologic, disparities, and health  services.

What to Submit: Scientific abstracts report the results of original research and must contain data (either quantitative or qualitative) and report research results. Submissions should fall into the following categories: Basic Science, Clinical &  Translational, Community & Public Health, and Innovations in Medical  Education and Career Development. Using  this electronic submission tool click here, please submit a structured abstract of approximately 300 words total,  with Introduction (Objectives), Methods, Results, and Conclusion.

Review Process: Abstracts will be reviewed by the Abstract Review Committee and evaluated based on  quality, design and methodology, relevance to women’s health, educational value, timeliness, and clarity of objectives. Acceptance and rejection notifications will be sent no later than January 10, 2011.

Notification of Receipt and Acceptance: Receipt of abstract submissions will be acknowledged via e-mail to the submitting author. After the review process is complete, the author will be notified regarding the acceptance or rejection of their submissions. If accepted, a signed Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form will be required before acceptance is final. Authors will then be required to confirm that they will be present. All poster presenters must register for the full meeting and must be present at the poster session in which their poster is displayed. Accepted abstracts will be published in the March issue of Journal of Women’s Health.

Awards: Among the posters presented at the Congress, recognition will be given to the poster  judged to be the most outstanding in each research category of women's health  and sex differences research. Posters will be judged by ORWH designees based  upon relevance to women's health and sex differences, research design and  methods, innovation and creativity, and clarity of poster. Eligible candidates must be the first author and must have had a major role in the work being submitted.
