World War on Cancer
In 1971 President Richard Nixon signed the National Cancer Act of 1971 and is widely viewed as the beginning of the war on cancer.
In June of 2010 Eldebrock joined this war and started The World War on Cancer campaign to amass a global force to fight and eliminate cancer. To support the War on Cancer Eldebrock has entered into a partnership with the UICC - Union for International Cancer Control and has committed to donating $1/album of their debut album sales (10¢/song sold) to the UICC.
How it all began – A note from Del Bannerman
When we were wrapping up writing the material for our debut album my aunt called me with the brutal news that my uncle was diagnosed with bone cancer and that we may not have a tour bus driver come tour time. They were so excited to come along and experience the life on the road touring and it was devastating to get the sad news.
Only a week before, I had received the unbelievable news that my cousin in her 30s had breast cancer. I was thinking this is insane that this disease still exists and it seems to be affecting more and more people, not less. I sat down with a pen and paper and started writing down how many people off the top of my head that I know well that have either died from the disease or are fighting for their life and within a few minutes I had 15 names in front of me.
A few days later, after a few sleepless nights laying in bed brainstorming, I approached the band and asked them what they thought about donating a portion of our album sales to a cancer charity. They were immediately all for it and we decided if we were going to do this it had to benefit everyone in the world, not just one country. After doing some research I found the global charity UICC and shortly after began discussions to join forces in a partnership.
We are hoping the music will spread and we can grow a massive force to eliminate cancer. We can spread good faster than cancer can spread bad and WE CAN WIN!

About Eldebrock
Eldebrock began to take shape in the early spring of 2009 when founding member, Del Bannerman (rhythm guitar), along with Richard Lalonde (bass guitar), recruited Jay Wegenast from Vancouver B.C. as the lead singer. The spring and summer of 2009 was spent in a garage turned jam space in the small town of Delmas, Saskatchewan writing the music for the debut album.
The debut single is slotted for release June 15th and the album will be out on September 14th 2010.
