Educational campaign in schools

The League against cancer chose cervical cancer and breast cancer prevention as a theme for an educational campaign in schools involved in project "Cancer Education in Schools".

The Slovakian League against Cancer decided twelve years ago to establish a project called “Cancer Education in Schools“. This form of education has proved to be one of the most effective tools to ensure success in young generation and in achieving intended goals.

On World Cancer Day 2011 awareness of dangers of cervical cancer and breast cancer, the most prevalent cancers in women was chosen as the theme for an educational campaign dedicated to girl-students in schools. Schools were requested to distribute leaflets and brochures among adolescents, providing information about disease development mechanisms, methods of effective interventions and potentials for prevention and early detection, and recommendation that may be useful for girls in womanhood.
