Dutch Cancer Society campaigns for a smoke-free Netherlands

Lung cancer incidence is still increasing in Dutch women. At World Cancer Day The Dutch Cancer Society asks support of the population for its tobacco control policy and activities.

Tobacco control is one of the key issues of the Dutch Cancer Society. Therefore we decided to focus on this key issue on World Cancer Day. In a press release we highligted the tremendous increase of lung cancer in women. In our social media campaign we ask people to sign up for a smoke-free country. With a confronting but realistic video on facebook, twitter and you tube, we inform people about the impact of smoking. Next to the social media campaign we asked 160.000 of our donators by email to raise their voice in favor of a smoke-free country.
