Usage Guidelines

The promotional materials are  primarily intended for three kinds of promotional use ― information, advocacy and fundraising.

UICC members, partners and other stakeholders may use the World Cancer Declaration promotional materials on their websites and communications materials. UICC may also grant permission to use the Logo for international conferences and events for cancer control activities that directly contribute and support achievement of any/all eleven targets.

All entities interested in using the World Cancer Declaration Logo for promotional purposes who are not directly affiliated with the organisation should apply for approval to the UICC Secretariat. When requesting approval, entities should provide:

  • A short statement of identity (membership, objectives, etc.) and;
  • An explanation of how and where the logo will be used.

Where to use the declaration logo
 

Websites

The World Cancer Declaration Logo may be used on your organisation website. It is expected that the Logo be prominently placed on the website homepage with a hyperlink directly to the Declaration homepage, www.uicc.org/declaration. When uploading the Logo on your website, please use the Logo file supplied by UICC.

Advertising and promotional materials
The World Cancer Declaration Logo may be used on advertising and other promotional materials for cancer control activities that directly contribute and support achievement of any/all eleven targets. The UICC Secretariat will provide guidance on the maximum/minimum size of the Logo on printed materials after approval has been granted for its use.

Where not to use the UICC World Cancer Declaration Logo

  • The Logo may not be used on any commercial or non-commercial products or packaging.
  • The Logo may not be used on any printed materials that are not directly related to the World Cancer Declaration Initiative and have not been previously approved by UICC.
  • The Logo may not appear on, or in connection with, any marketing materials for any individual or commercial entity.

Fundraising uses of the Logo
Fundraising uses of the Logo are intended to raise resources to cover costs of promotional activities in the context of the World Cancer Declaration Initiative. Fundraising uses of the Logo may be undertaken only by non-commercial entities that have an official partnership agreement with UICC. Partners interested in using the World Cancer Declaration Logo for fundraising purposes must provide the following information to the UICC Secretariat when requesting permission to use the Logo for fundraising:

  • An explanation of how and where the Logo will be used;
  • An explanation of how fundraising will take place;
  • A summary budget, and;
  • An explanation of how the proceeds will be allocated to cover activities related to achievement of any/all of the 2020 targets.
  • Review and approval process

All entities agree to cooperate fully with any request by UICC to review any materials reflecting the Logo and to promptly make any changes required by UICC to conform to these Guidelines.
