Deadline extension: GloboDiet fellowship for Ghana

UICC, IARC and WCRF International launch GloboDiet fellowship for Ghana

Header Paragraph

The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), and the World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRF International) have joined forces to pilot the launch of the GloboDiet fellowship to advance cancer research on nutrition, its determinants and associations with cancer.

The fellowship aims to build capacity in low- and middle-income countries in order to collect standardized dietary data, support dietary surveillance, research, and prevention of cancer and other noncommunicable diseases in line with the Global Nutrition Surveillance initiative.

“We are pleased to support the GloboDiet fellowships and build capacity in a low income country such as Ghana as part of the Global Nutrition Surveillance initiative” stated Dr Giota Mitrou, Director of Research Funding & Science External Relations at the World Cancer Research Fund International.

Ghana has been selected as the first pilot country for this initiative based on a series of successful activities held by IARC in the country.
