Cancer Society of Finland press release on colorectal cancer screening
The Cancer Society of Finland launched in 2004 a screening programme on colorectal cancer that now covers over 150 communities. The Cancer Society financially supports the programme.
On World Cancer Day the Society reminds Finns that cancer screenings mean prevention and early detection.
There are three population-based cancer screenings carried out as a routine health care service in Finland: cervical cancer is screened using Pap-tests, breast cancer using mammograms and colorectal cancer using the FOB test indicating blood in stool.
