The organizers of the conference on Cancer Awareness: Strategies for the 21st Century is proud to announce that the conference will be held in Kuwait on 10th-11th of February 2013. Dr. Kahlid Al Saleh, Vice Chairman of CAN and General Secretary of Kuwait Society for Smoking & Cancer Prevention and General Secretary of The Gulf Federation for Cancer Control, has announced that a conference on Cancer Awareness: Strategies for the 21st Century (iCan) will be held in Kuwait on 10-11th of February 2013. The conference will be attended by regional and international speakers, guests and participants and it is being organized by Cancer Aware Nation (C.A.N- Kuwait), Arab Medical Association Against Cancer (AMAAC), Kuwait Society for Smoking & Cancer Prevention, Kuwait Oncology Society, and Gulf Federation for Cancer Control, and supported under the auspices of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and World Health Organization (WHO-EMRO).

The topics of the Conference will discuss : (1) the methods in educating the public regarding early cancer detection, (2) new strategies in cancer prevention and screening on prostate cancer, colon cancer, breast and lung cancer (3) the roles of Non- government organizations and government institution towards the society protection from cancer diseases (4) palliative medicine centers and their role in cancer care.

The speakers of the event will be the (1) policy makers in the area of cancer awareness, (2) medical practitioner who have an active role in the field of early cancer diagnosis or in Charge of national screening programs, (3) leading members of professional societies involved in public awareness against cancer.

The Conference is directed to cancer specialist, primary care physician, residents in training, dietician, nurses and there will be special debate sessions with public participation.
