CALL FOR SESSION PROPOSALS - 2014 World Cancer Congress

UICC is looking forward to receiving your session proposal for the 2014 World Cancer Congress, to be held in Melbourne, Australia, on 3-6 December 2014.

Thank you for completing the session proposal web form and submitting it by pressing the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page. The deadline for submissions is 31st May 2013 at 24h00 CET.

Any incomplete form may not be taken into consideration by the Programme Committee who will act as the reviewing panel for all proposals.

Please ensure that you have read the guidelines which will help you submit a quality proposal for the 2014 World Cancer Congress.

NB: Please note that incomplete forms cannot be saved.

UICC will privilege proposed sessions that include the following:

  • Emphasis on interaction
  • Innovative thinking in line with the theme and tracks
  • Tools/implements that may be used by the audience
  • Topics of global interest

2.  SESSION FORMAT

Please select your preferred choice of session format, bearing in mind that the Programme Committee may propose an alternative:

3. SESSION TITLE

The session title should objectively describe the content. It should be brief and in sentence case. Thank you for not using non-standard abbreviations and commercial names. Please note that if you have selected to propose a “How to” session, the title of your session should start with “How to...”

4. SESSION DESCRIPTION

a. Content and panellists

Please describe the proposed content of the session, including a rationale for why this is a priority topic of global interest, how the session helps achieve the World Cancer Declaration targets and how it reflects the Congress theme 'Joining Forces – Accelerating Progress'.

Each session format has a limited number of panellists.

Thank you for ensuring that the proposed speakers and panellists have been contacted or will be contacted by the session organiser to align the programme.

3. ABOUT THE FILM / CAMPAIGN

a. Film title

The film title should objectively describe the content of the film or video campaign. It should be brief and in sentence case. Thank you for not using non-standard abbreviations and commercial names. 

b. Content

Please describe the proposed content of the film or video campaign including its specific purpose, broadcasting details (including year), target audience as well as its impact. A rationale on how it can be used by other countries may also be described, as well as why it features a priority topic of global interest, and how the session helps achieve the World Cancer Declaration targets.

Please include to whom the film or video campaign should be credited to:

Please upload a low-resolution version (max. file size 50MB) of your film/video campaign herewith in standard video file formats .avi or .mov

Please note that should your film/campaign be chosen, we will be in touch to obtain a high-resolution version in advance of the event. Please bear in mind the fact that all screens at the Congress are in 16:9 format and clips should be formatted to maximise this.
