Australian Cancer Research Foundation WCD Celebrations
The Australian Cancer Research Foundation will be doing our bit on World Cancer Day 2012 to assist in reducing the premature death from cancer by 25% before 2025. Over the weekend of World Cancer Day, we aim to raise $25,000 to go towards the fight against cancer. Every dollar of every donation received by the ACRF will go straight to world-class cancer research as no donation dollars are used for fundraising or administration purposes.
The Australian Cancer Research Foundation is dedicated to funding world-class research with the potential to make significant breakthroughs in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. We provide grants to the most promising research projects in the country including the cervical cancer vaccine which has, since its release in 2006, been administered to women and girls in over 100 countries.
Australian researchers are truly among the best in the world and have already made their mark with truly significant discoveries and treatments. Many of them have dedicated their lives to cancer research but their work can only continue through our support; Together it is possible.
Cancer touches us all in some way – and it directly impacts on the lives of a third of Australians before the age of 75. But every day brings new light in the fight against cancer and there are many ways you can be involved.
