WELCOME MESSAGE
Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the Asian Oncology Summit website. On behalf of the programme committees and organisers, I’d like to invite you to join us for the Third Asian Oncology Summit to be held in Hong Kong, China, on April 8–10, 2011. We have assembled a tremendous 2.5 day schedule containing many regional and internationally renowned experts that we hope you will find compelling and informative.
The previous Summit was attended by approximately 720 participants from throughout the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Once again, we aim to provide a meeting that is relevant to practicing physicians to help inform clinical practice and to optimise and improve patient management. The 2011 Summit includes five parallel programmes each dedicated to a different oncology specialty. Additionally, the Summit includes a clinical trials plenary session, various plenary lectures, editor’s choice poster awards, and a writing workshop by the editors of The Lancet Oncology.
The theme for the 2011 event is ‘Building Capacity. For Today. For Tomorrow’. In these economically constrained times, healthcare capacity has never been more important. Healthcare infrastructure and new modalities, technologies, and treatments have the potential to improve substantially treatment outcomes.
I hope you find the conference details on this website - coupled with the accessible location for the Summit - to be a persuasive reason to attend. Your active participation will continue to make the Asian Oncology Summit a unique and valuable contribution to medical practice in Asia.
I look forward to seeing you in Hong Kong.
Kind regards,
Dr Emma Grainger
