12th International Week For Children With Leukemia
The International Week for Children with Leukemia IWCL is a program which aims to celebrate the battle with leukemia given by little heroes everywhere around the world. Through this program LOSEV the Foundation for Children with Leukemia has hosted participants from 44 different countries throughout the past 11 years.
For the 12th IWCL, LOSEV extends a special invitation to “Our True Heroes” a child with leukemia and his/her mother from each country to spend 4 days in the city of seven hills Istanbul and 3 days in the beautiful Mediterranean city Antalya, between 25-31 May, 2013. Accommodation and meals throughout the Week as well as domestic traveling expenses (such as flight from Istanbul to Antalya) will be covered by LOSEV. Participants are expected to cover their round trip flight expenses and personal expenses.
Participating children who are 6 to 14 years old will have the opportunity to meet other heroes from around the world and have lots of fun at open air festivals, a costume party, the dolphin show and much more. Mothers will get the chance to share their experiences at roundtable workshops, but also relax on a boat trip and the whole group will explore how a city can be both modern an enchantingly historical.
Shortly, we aim to bring together today’s children, life-changing adults of tomorrow, who are true heroes, while at the same time we invite cancer organizations and medical institutions to join us during this week and organize a special activity at home to show once again we want to end this war with cancer.
Please feel free to contact the Organizing Committee - LOSEV Foundation For Children with Leukemia concerning participation and application requirements. Our hope is to reach as many children as possible that could benefit from such an experience.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
